Ministry of Sport operates across sports, across Nottinghamshire & across church denominations to encourage:
Churches to engage with sports culture, e.g. 2012 Games;
Christians to live & speak out their faith through sports;
Quality events for sporty people to explore the claims of Jesus Christ.
In this way, the Church of England hopes to see a positive & transforming impact within the lives & culture of sport.
The 2012 Olympics & Paralympics heightens the importance of this, as euphoria for sport will peak in our nation. Over the next 10 years, the UK will also be hosting many other major sporting events, including the Rugby World Cup & Cricket World Cup (see full list).
