ANOTHER NEW EVENT FOR 2019!
Join us for an afternoon of cycling through the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside! Choose from a 35, 50 or 70 kilometre route. Meet in Southwell (parking and facilities available) and then join up at the Hay Barn cafe in Kneesall for a welcome refuel and short talk on the Christian faith behind the Ministry of Sport.
Short route (35 km)
The ride sets off out of Southwell past the old Workhouse and then travels through the rural farmland and villages of central Nottinghamshire. After the snack break at the Hay Barn Café the route heads back southwards. After a short climb it is downhill all the way back to Southwell.
Medium route (50 km)
The route heads south for a short while before turning westward towards the picturesque village of Edingley. As the route turns northwards the roads slope uphill before heading east to join up with the others for the mid ride break. The route winds its way home through the rolling hills of the farmland and villages before reaching it final destination.
Long route (70 km)
After heading eastwards towards Newark the route turns to meander along beside the river Trent, before heading westwards through the villages of Ossington and Laxton to the Hay Barn Café. The ride then works its way southwards through the hilly farmland. After the relative flatness of the first half of the ride the route home more of a challenge with some short sharp climbs and exhilarating descents.
